Is There Something Wrong If I Don’t Post About My Marriage?

When I scroll through social media and see anniversary shoutouts, birthday love letters, and couples in matching Christmas pajamas, I think, “That’s so sweet… also, why don’t we ever do that?”

Jeremy and I just aren’t big on what I call SDAs – social displays of affection. And sometimes I catch myself wondering, “Is something wrong with us?”

But then I came across a post from a woman named Christina who said she felt the same way. Her husband doesn’t show love on a screen – but he shows her in the everyday moments no one else sees. He doesn’t tell the world he loves her. He tells her.

That hit me.

Love doesn’t need to be posted to be real. It just needs to be lived. And seen by the one who matters.

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” –1 John 3:18
