I’ve been thinking about how some things in life just take time. Like the old saying goes, “You don’t get to eat the fruit the same day you plant the seed.” It’s true for the garden, and it’s true in my prayer life.
Some prayers feel like green onions – you see results quickly, and it’s encouraging. Others are more like sweet potatoes, which can take over 100 days to grow. And sometimes, the answer is a flat-out “no,” even if I don’t understand why.
But just because I don’t see the results right away doesn’t mean I stop praying. The people I’m praying for need to know God’s love and power, and that keeps me going.
Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
So if you’re in a season of waiting, keep planting, keep praying – the harvest is coming.
