The news over the weekend has been heavy. As tensions rise, it’s understandable if you’ve felt anxious, even afraid.
I found myself glued to the coverage for a while… and I could feel it getting to me. My heart started to race. My thoughts got a little loud. That’s when I knew I needed to pause.
I put the phone down, opened my Bible, and found myself in Psalm 46... and the words there were exactly what I needed:
“God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea…
The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
The nations may rage. The world may feel uncertain. But God hasn’t moved an inch. He’s still on the throne. He’s still our refuge.
So if your spirit feels unsettled today, you’re not alone. Take a breath. Open the Word. And remember: you are held by a God who isn’t shaken.
